Let’s play Connect the Dots.
First, let’s connect Richmond’s newest brewery, Isley, with itself!
That’s easy. Winter Plumbing and Heating, the family business run by Mike Isley, who also owns the brewery, installed the plumbing in the original building back in 1920.
“We’re back here 90-plus years later,” Isley said, beaming.
Next, let’s connect the dots of Isley Brewing Co.’s location, 1715 Summit Ave. in Scott’s Addition, with points in Richmond’s brewsy past. Two of the city’s brewing icons — Richmond Brewing Co. (later Home Brewing Co., maker of Richbrau beers) and Richmond Brewery (later Rosenegk Brewery) — co-existed within several blocks of each other a century ago in an area just east of Isley.
